Important Notice

Hello everyone,

We hope everyone is having a good start to the new year. We are so grateful for the trust you place in us to care for your dogs. It is truly an honor to provide grooming in a calm, holistic, and individualized environment, and we deeply appreciate the relationships we’ve built with both you and your pets.

To continue offering the level of care, time, high-quality products, and advanced grooming techniques that Petite Paw Grooming is known for, we will be implementing a service price update effective April 1st. No prices will change before that date. And some new savings options will be mentioned at the bottom of this message.

Over the past year, the cost of operating our salon—including rent, professional grooming supplies, utilities, equipment maintenance, and continued education—has increased significantly.

This adjustment allows us to:
• Maintain personalized, low-stress appointments
• Continue offering 1-on-1 options and limited-capacity scheduling or a calmer salon experience
• Use premium, gentle, and holistic grooming products
• Invest in ongoing education and salon improvements

Why Our Grooms Can Take Longer & Cost More — and Why That’s a Good Thing

One of the most common questions we receive is:

“Why does grooming here sometimes take longer and cost more than my previous groomer?”

Kit’s answer - “That’s a really common question. My staff and I work a little more slowly when necessary and more intentionally than many groomers because our focus is comfort, coat & skin health, and reducing stress. The extra time allows us to do detailed hand scissoring, have gentle handling, and use higher-quality products without rushing. Some grooming styles are designed to be faster, and that works for some dogs. Many salons are set up for quickness above all else. We specialize in calm, low-stress grooming with advanced finishing techniques. That’s why many of our grooms look and feel different, why many dogs are noticeably more relaxed afterward, and why the grooms often look better for longer. Our approach is different. I limit how many dogs we groom per day so we can work at the dog’s pace. Our goal isn’t speed. It’s quality, comfort, and long-term coat and skin health. That’s why most dogs leave calmer, more comfortable, and with a longer-lasting groom.”

We don’t believe grooming should be rushed. Fast-paced grooming environments can be overwhelming for many dogs. While there are always chances of accidents in any grooming environment, when appointments are rushed, dogs may experience increased stress, physical tension, discomfort, and a higher likelihood of minor accidents such as nicks, clipper irritation, or uneven coat work. In some cases, more serious issues, like cuts, bruises, or sprains can also be more likely. Over time, rushed experiences can cause dogs to become anxious or resistant to grooming altogether. While a faster approach works for some salons and some dogs, it often comes at the expense of salon cleanliness, the dog’s coat quality, skin health, and emotional & physical well-being.

Our grooming philosophy is different. Our slower, more intentional approach allows dogs time to relax, helps reduce emotional stress, and supports safer handling, better coat quality, and a more enjoyable grooming experience overall.

This allows us to:
• Use premium, skin-safe, coat-appropriate products
• Perform detailed hand-scissoring and breed-specific finishing
• Minimize physical strain on the dog’s joints and sensitive areas
• Reduce stress, anxiety, and overstimulation
• Create a calmer, more positive grooming experience
• Fully sanitize equipment between dogs

As a result, appointments often take longer than high-volume salons - typically 2 to 2.5 hours for smaller breeds, sometimes as little as 1.5 hours for the littler ones with easier styles. But dogs leave looking better, feeling more comfortable, and often noticeably more relaxed than after a typical grooming appointment.

Our pricing reflects the time, skill, education, and individualized care each dog receives. We are not a high-volume salon, and we don’t aim to be the cheapest option. Instead, we focus on providing thoughtful, high-quality grooming for clients who value their dog’s comfort, health, and long-term well-being.

If you’re looking for a quicker appointment or a cheaper option, we may not be the right fit moving forward - and that’s okay. But, if you’re looking to continue a calm, caring, high-quality holistic grooming experience, we’re honored to continue to care for your dog!
